This month’s book is The God of Good Looks by Breanne McIvor. I won’t lie. I solely chose this book because of its cover. However, the topic of an aspiring writer who feels she isn’t living up to her fullest potential piqued my interest as well. If you’ve glanced at my recent posts, then you’ll know that I’ve been on my “figuring out my best life” kick for the last couple of months. This story is supposed to take us on a journey where the protagonist, Bianca, is working on living life more on her own terms, and there’s a little bit of potential romance sprinkled in there.

I’m about forty pages into the book so far, and it is holding my interest. So far, I feel like the author has painted a pretty clear picture of who Bianca is and how she got to the point where she feels so unsatisfied with her life. If nothing else, the fact that one of Bianca’s issues is an affair gone wrong and the person she had the affair with shares the name of somebody I knew in real life already has me wanting to see her win. I’m not a fan of the real life or fictional version of this person.

How in the world do I have so many books open at one time? I don’t know. Maybe that’s another symptom of my ADHD. I’ve done it for years, though. Is it an effective way to read books? Not necessarily. So, I am trying to commit myself to finishing a book before I start a new one. We’ll see how that turns out.

I’ve seen two different covers for this book. I prefer the orange and purple one with the woman on the cover. The other one is cute, too. Which one do you prefer?
